Jun 02,2022 | PHATOIL

Homemade essential oil soap can not only ensure that you use pure raw materials and enjoy your favorite fragrance but can also use different raw materials to make unique products through your own efforts! In the production process of handmade essential oil soap, the choice of which essential oil to add fragrance to the soap depends on your own choice. What’s more, handmade essential oil soaps can also have different functions by adding functional essential oils.

Before making your own essential oil soap, let's first understand what essential oil soap is.

Essential oil soaps are soaps that contain essential oils. It can be made into colorless and odorless essential oil soap, or you can add essential oils to make soap with an aroma. The essential oils of Phatoil are volatile aromatic substances extracted from the flowers, leaves, stems, roots, or fruits of plants by steam distillation, extrusion, cold immersion, or solvent extraction.

Essential oils can prevent infectious diseases, fight bacteria, viruses, and mold, prevent inflammation, prevent spasms, and promote cell metabolism and cell regeneration. Some essential oils can regulate endocrine organs, promote hormone secretion, and allow the body's physical and psychological activities to achieve good development.

Therefore, if the essential oils were added to soap, their effect would be fully used. There are many recipes and ways to make homemade essential oil soap. Let's talk about the simplest way to make it.

Phatoil Essential Oil Soap Kit

Step 1: Set up a clean environment

Get a clean space and arrange all of the necessary materials on it. Make sure the table is clean and will not contaminate the material of the handmade soap.

Step 2: Cut the soap base

Take an appropriate amount of soap base and cut it into small pieces. The shape can be diced or cut as you choose. The purpose of cutting small is to speed up the melting. No matter how you cut it, it is recommended that each piece be the same size so that when it is heated, the heating will be even.

Step 3: Heat and melt the soap base

The soap base starts to melt at about 60 degrees. It is usually melted by heating it in a water bath or microwave. The purpose of heating the water bath is to prevent the soap base from burning. If you want to heat it directly, the fire must be adjusted very small, and you must be careful not to scorch it! If you see the water bubbling or even boiling, it means that the water temperature is too high. You should turn down the fire or temporarily turn off the water.

Step 4: Incorporate essential oils

Essential oils are highly volatile, so it is best to add the essential oils when the temperature of the soap base is lowered a little.

You can add essential oils according to your preferences, such as lavender essential oil, tea tree essential oil, rose essential oil, and ylang-ylang essential oil. In addition to essential oils, dried roses, dried jasmine, etc. can also be added. You can add some honey to increase the moisturizing effect.

If you want to make colorful soap, you can also add food coloring to it to make the color you like. But please note that it must be food coloring.

How much essential oil to add: The amount of essential oil added is about 0.5% to 2% of the soap solution. Generally, the amount of essential oil added should be controlled within 6 drops, which is more appropriate.

Pour the prepared soap into the mold, which must be washed and dried in advance. These soaps will be set up in about an hour. If you want the soap to set quickly, you can put them in the refrigerator or freeze them, and they will set in about 15 minutes to half an hour.

Step 5: Demould

After the essential oil soap is completely solidified, it can be demolded. The silicone mold is soft and easy to demould. First, gently pull the four sides of the mold, and then the essential oil soap can be poured out.

Step 6: Retouching

If there are many bubbles on the essential oil soap, or if there are other reasons to modify it, you can use the back of a disposable plastic knife, a dry rag, or toilet paper to modify it. Use a plastic knife to scrape off the unsightly parts, and then wipe with a dry rag and toilet paper to soften the lines of the essential oil soap.

Step 7: Save

If the modified essential oil soap is placed in the air, there will be small water droplets on the surface a few days later, which will affect the appearance of the essential oil soap. In order to avoid or reduce the generation of small water droplets, the essential oil soap needs to be wrapped in plastic wrap or an airtight bag immediately after it is retouched and stored in a cool and dry place.

Phatoil provides a complete set of tools for making handmade soaps: Rose Petal Soap Making Kit and Green Tea Soap Making Kit. Although there are only two sets of tools at present, they can be reused. So we can buy some other essential oils and add them to make essential oil soaps with different fragrances. This is also a good choice. What are you waiting for?
